Montalbano is called back to Vigata to investigate the murder of a year-old prostitute. A woman is attacked and robbed on her way home late at night. When a supermarket run by the Mafia is robbed, Montalbano uses unconventional methods. Montalbano investigates a bombing, but is soon confused by a series of disparate events. Montalbano is attracted to a young bank manager who has been the victim of a burglary.
A yacht docks at Vigata's harbour as a disfigured body is discovered at sea. A disturbed maniac is playing a macabre game of treasure hunt with the inspector.
When Fazio goes missing, Montalbano mounts a frantic search to try and find him alive. A plastic bag containing a body cut into pieces is found in a clay field. A distressed woman reports the disappearance of her brother, who is then found murdered. Montalbano is drawn into the world of horse racing when he finds a dead horse's carcass.
Montalbano investigates when the body of an unknown young woman is discovered on a beach. I used to watch and rewatch some episodes now and then. Alas, no more. Watching Livia in shock and total disbelief is too painful to bear. I am eager to read the final book, Riccardino, which may offer a more definitive answer scheduled for release in the U. Russo said that his statement confirming that two more episodes are expected came directly from Palomar, the producer of Montalbano.
I just finished watching this final episode, and I agree with everything that has been said about this terrible, out-of-character, cliche-ridden, poorly-written AND directed script! One good thing about the overwhelmingly negative reviews is the possibility that Luca Zingaretti, who had said earlier that he doubted the TV series could or should be continued with Camilleri and key crew having died, will decide as a matter of pride that the series which delighted so many viewers for 22 years cannot end on such a sour note.
This is so out of character for Salvo to treat a women in such a way and especially with a woman who he has had a very long and loyal relationship. Another couple of episodes need to be added to bring back the Salvo we all know and love.
The Young Montalbano ended quickly unfortunately. Then the series continued with a new actor. Why cannot the present actors continue with a writer who could undertake to write a similar story line ….
