The Turkana Basin Institute is a collaborative, international, multi-disciplinary organization co-founded by the Leakey family and Stony Brook University that facilitates scientific research in northern Kenya. TBI has two field stations for scientists and students, and also runs a community outreach program and a field school taught by experts in their field.
Staller Center offers an ever-expanding program of theater, dance, classical music and popular entertainment throughout the year. The center hosts master classes and concerts by the Emerson String Quartet and Calidore String Quartet, our resident artists. The center focuses on three core areas — clinical care, research and education — all of which lead to improved care. We use a team approach to clinical care, with our health professionals bringing their expertise at every stage for optimal treatment.

The explorers. The innovators. Stony Brook University is situated on an 1, acre site see campus maps on the north shore of Long Island in southeastern New York.
We are approximately 60 miles east of New York City. The main entrance to the University is on the left. The LIRR station is at the north end of the campus; bus service to the central campus is provided. Trains to and from Penn generally require transfers at Jamaica or Huntington. Hicksville is also a transfer point on some lines. The University entrances are the first three intersections you come to. Long Island's Islip-MacArthur Airport is 16 miles from the campus and is serviced by direct flights by major airlines and commuter lines.
Drive north for 12 miles. Take Route 27 east and proceed 19 miles to Southampton Campus. Make right on Tuckahoe Road. Go past first entrance on Tuckahoe Road and past the empty field.
Turn right at next entrance where you will see a guard booth on your right.
